Charlene Bradley - Breast Cancer Medical Expenses
Donation protected
Charlene Bradley, a wife, mother, daughter, aunt, sister, friend, coach, teacher, volunteer….
After starting softball practice in October, Coach Bradley developed a knot under her right arm. Naturally, she assumed she pulled a muscle since she had started throwing and pitching with her girls again. After a week with no improvement, she decided to visit her doctor. Her doctor sent her to get a mammogram and ultrasound on her right breast ad armpit after a physical examination. Before leaving the mammogram office, the radiologist gave her a devastating preliminary diagnosis that she was pretty sure she had the “C” word and she would need to complete a biopsy. Coach Bradley received her biopsy results and she was diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer. That was one of the worst days of Coach Bradley’s life because she never thought she could be diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 33 after having breastfed both of her kids and with no family history of the disease. This diagnosis has put a huge financial strain on Coach Bradley and her family. Coach Bradley will undergo a double mastectomy during the spring where she will be having to take off from work and stop coaching for six to eight weeks without pay. Despite the diagnosis, Coach Bradley goes to work every day as a 12th grade English teacher and head softball coach. Every day she pours her all into her kids regardless of how she feels.
Coach Bradley is one of the kindest, most giving people you can ever meet and now she has found herself in the position of having to accept help instead of giving help. Any amount you donate is helpful. Coach Bradley requires many more chemotherapy treatments, a double mastectomy, 4 to 6 weeks of daily radiation, reconstructive surgery and targeted therapy as her doctors treat for the “CURE!”
