Charles battle with cancer.
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Alex and my brother Christian and I are starting this fundraiser for our Step-Father Charles Infinger or as some of you may know him as Chaz. Many of you may already know that last year in February Charles was diagnosed with stage 4 squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue. He completed three five day rounds of chemo in the hospital and moved on to 39 radiation treatments as well as weekly chemo treatments which were completed the day before Thanksgiving 2021. His recovery has been long and extremely painful due to the intensity of the radiation amd chemo. He went back to doing some light work this year in February here and there and when he felt well enough to work. Sadly on April 5th 2022 our Mother came home from work to find him weak and not able to stand up due to a massive bleed coming from his mouth. He was rushed to St. Mary's Hospital and later in the ER suffered another massive bleed and was taken for an emergency surgery where it was discovered that his facial artery in his neck had a hole and caused a pseudoaneurysm. The Dr's were able to coil the artery and he remained in the icu on a ventilator for 7 days. The Dr's decided that it was in his best interest to do a tracheostomy so they would have a stable airway in the case of another bleed. He was moved into the critical care unit after the 7 days and taken off the ventilator and had another operation to place a feeding tube. On the evening of April 16th the day before Easter they decided that he was stable enough to go home and be with family. He wanted so badly to be home for Easter with our little sister Ariella. Last year he spent Easter in the hospital at Palms West having his chemo treatments and couldn't celebrate Easter with family. Our Mom hasn't been able to work in 3 weeks now and has been home caring for him full-time as he cannot talk yet and is very weak and frail. We ask for this financial help for them so the focus is on healing and health and not on the continuing financial strain this is causing. We also thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers in the battle against this demon called cancer.
