Charles E. McCoy Celebration of Life

Donation protected
Hello. My name is Taya McCoy and my family is fundraising for my father, Deacon Charles E. McCoy, for his celebration of life service. He passed away New Year’s Eve after battling numerous health issues over the years. He suffered a stroke in February of 2012, which left him partially paralyzed on his right side. About a year and a half ago, he began to decline when we discovered he had a rare genetic defect which affects his heart, which in turn affected the circulation in his heart and legs. In April of 2023, his circulation got progressively worse and they ended up amputating half of his left foot. But it was still progressing so quickly that within a couple of weeks, they decided to amputate both legs. The left leg mid thigh and the right leg just under the knee. But sadly because of his heart condition, he wasn’t healing properly so they then put in a pacemaker-defibrillator. Things began to look up but as he was preparing for a doctor’s appointment to check on the pacemaker-defibrillator, he had a heart attack. He was rushed to the hospital and stayed for a few days then was placed in a rehab facility, where he unfortunately then contracted Covid. He was then put back in the hospital but by then, his health was too far gone.

He was such a strong man and fought until he couldn’t anymore. He was a loving husband, wonderful father and amazing man of God and he touched the lives of so many people.

We appreciate anyone who is able to give, even just a small amount helps.
