Full Obituary:

Charles Scott McDonald passed away unexpectedly on March 4, 2022. He was born on August 22, 1972 in Bexar County, Texas.

He grew up in Texas and later lived in Ohio, California, and Utah. Charles made his way into the oil and gas industry early in his life and worked in that industry for over 30 years. He loved the work and had many life-long friends as a result.

Charles had a huge heart and made friends everywhere he went. One of his absolute favorite things to do was to find the perfect gift for or share the things that he loved with his dearest friends and family. He would be like a child with a beaming face waiting to surprise the recipient, and a lot of the Christmas gifts didn’t actually make it to Christmas day…he was too excited to wait!

Charles was the life of every party and had the best stories to share. His smile and laugh lit up every room or campsite. He loved entertaining and seeing his friends and family together having a great time. He found his love for the mountains and camping over the last few years and being there was his favorite way to relax and get away, especially when he was at his favorite spots with his favorite people listening to his favorite music. He spent nearly every weekend camping last summer and loved every minute of it.

Charles also enjoyed tinkering with things, especially when it came to cars, and he loved spending time in his shop at home in Utah. He had a special passion for fox body Saleen Mustangs and owned/restored several throughout his lifetime. He always enjoyed taking people for a “little spin” in his black and gold Mustang to see their reaction as he raced it down the road. Aside from cars, he tinkered with many other things in his shop such as creating or building things and of course brewing, which was also something that he found a great sense of relaxation doing.

Of all the things that he loved, the most important to him was his family and those friends that he considered family. He couldn’t have been more proud of each of his sons and the men they are growing up to be. His grandbabies were the lights of his life. And he considered himself blessed to have finally found his soulmate to share the rest of his life with…forever and always. He took care of all those he loved while on this earth and he will be fiercely watching over and guiding us from the other side.

Charles is survived by his loving wife, Angelia McDonald, South Jordan UT; son and daughter-in-law Scott and Jessica McDonald, West Jordan, UT; sons Beau McDonald and Parker McDonald, Brentwood, CA; stepdaughters Madison (James) Otto, West Jordan, UT and Mercedes Fountaine, Taylorsville, UT and grandchildren Kali McDonald and Dallas McDonald, both of West Jordan, UT. He is survived by his parents Royce & Carol McDonald, MO, mother-in-law Sharon Baldwin, UT, second mother Phyllis Napier, OH, siblings Shawna (Michael) Womack, MO, Michael (Erin) McDonald, TX, Dwayne (Christy) McDonald, TX, Allen (Erica) McDonald, TX, Ulyssis “Jack” Napier III, NC, and Christopher (Jennifer) Napier, OH and previous wives Robin Napier, OH and Robyn DeSoto, CA. He was preceded in death by his brothers Steven McDonald, MO and Richard “Tony” Ward, TX, second father Ulyssis “Jack” Napier Jr., OH and father-in-law Garry Baldwin, UT.

A casual memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 19th at 3:00pm with a celebration of life following immediately after. Both events will take place at 3268 West Clarkston Circle, South Jordan UT 84095. Parking will be limited, so please plan a little extra walking time or rideshare.
