Charles "Lee" Lindsay Jr Memorial Fund
Donation protected
Charles Lee Lindsay, Jr. (Lee) died at home in Dagsboro, DE on July 27, 2019 at age 40 of complications from cancer. Lee was born on November 10, 1978 in Wilmington, DE and grew up in Elkton, MD before moving to Dagsboro in 2007. He is survived by his mother and father Carol and Charles Lindsay, brothers Douglas, Richard, and John, and his 11 year old son Wyatt.
Lee was diagnosed with small-cell lung cancer in 2016, a direct consequence of prolonged exposure to a now-banned volatile adhesive used at his job in his 20's. By the time he was diagnosed, it had metastasized and spread through his lungs and into his brain and other organs. He underwent chemotherapy and radiation treatments on the larger tumors, and although the tumors shrank, the cancer remained in his lymphatic system. He lost most of his hearing and vision, and tried repeatedly but was unable to return to work.
Lee leaves behind an 11 year old son Wyatt who has had to witness the trauma of his father's decline since he was 8 years old. Wyatt is "mad at the cancer" and suffering from PTSD-like symptoms. He needs to see a therapist weekly.
The immediate goal of this fundraiser is to cover the costs of Lee's funeral. Any additional funds will go towards the costs of Wyatt's continued treatments.
