Charles the champion & family

Hey, my 6 month old son Charles has been diagnosed with a rare childhood cancer. It’s so rare that many of the top doctors haven’t even heard of it. It occurs to 1 in 200,000 children. We noticed something wasn’t right on March 19th. Charles has seen 26 doctors and been on 18 different medicines and has been misdiagnosed numerous times. It’s been a long few months with lots of doctors visits, hospital stays, ER visits, medicines and parking fees. I’ve had to fight and beg these doctor to help him. Most of the doctors wanted to wait until September or October to see him, let alone even treat him. It was so discouraging. Finally I found a doctor who listened and was eager to find out what was going on with my son. He’s been completely healthy up until this point. No fevers, normal blood count levels, nothing out of the ordinary. Finally the doctor agreed to do a biopsy. On April 20th Charles was finally officially diagnosed with cancer. Now that we have a diagnosis we have many more doctors visits, treatments, and procedures ahead of us. I’ve started a GoFund me page for “Charles the Champion” as many have asked, as well as to help cover some of the unexpected costs that we have incurred over the past few months. It’s not easy having a large family, let alone a large family with a sick baby. He is currently in a clinical trial study so he will be helping keep doctors informed and help treat future children who may get this rare cancer. It’s definitely taken a toll on us as parents as well as his siblings. Today Charles is currently receiving chemotherapy, (just starting it) and is being carefully monitored. Im sure you can imagine how his little body is feeling. He’s taking it like the champion he is. He’s the sweetest happiest baby ever. He will charm anyone he meets. He’s a twin and they are the cutest pair ever. Charlie has 2 teeth and loves to show them off to everyone. He loves milk and his mama, and loves to give kisses. Even the simple things like a text, a phone call, a meal, helping with the other children, a simple hug it’s been appreciated so much. We have felt the love and prayers from every one of you!
