Help Us Grow Charlestown’s Community Garden!
We are creating a community garden beside St. James’s Church and the adjoining cemetery in Charlestown, Co. Mayo—a peaceful space where people come together to grow fresh produce, connect with nature, and build a stronger community.
We have already come a long way since starting the garden in . We have our own polytunnel, a new compost bay (made from pallets) and each year our membership increases. We even survived a pandemic!!
This year, we were delighted to be able to host a mini gardening course attracting people from Curry, Tubbercurry and Castlebar. So, we are delighted with our progress.
We have much to be thankful for. We are especially grateful to many local businesses who have sponsored our new raised beds and without whose support we would not have survived. “Thank You”
We do however have more plans for the garden.
With your support, we can transform this area into an even more beautiful and thriving green space, offering fresh food, gardening workshops, and a welcoming place for reflection and connection. Your donation will help us purchase essential tools, seeds, bedding plants, fruit bushes, compost and seating areas where everyone can gather and enjoy the surroundings.
No matter how big or small, every contribution helps bring this vision to life. Please donate and share to help us cultivate something truly special for Charlestown!
