Charlie and Simran for MSA

Charlie and Simran are current members of MSA, the undergraduate student government at the Univeristy of Minnesota. Charlie and Simran have a combined 5 years of experience in the organization and are now running to lead it and the Twin Cities campus as Student Body President and Vice President.
We are asking for support for our campaign so that we can reach more students about our message of unity, compassion, and care. This looks like posters, social media advertising, and offering some money to our wonderful volunteers who have contributed time and energy into producing high quality digital media (campaign photographs, videos, and graphics).
Charlie's Experiences:
I am a Junior studying Political Science, Global Studies, and minoring in Business Law. I work in MSA as the Director of Membership, where I fight to make the organization inclusive and open to all students. I previously served as Deputy Chief of Staff, where my role allowed me a window into managing a nonprofit with a staff of 35 and budget of over $150,000. I also helped craft recomendations for conversations around Liberal Education Requirements happening in the coming years. I believe in strategic plans that extend beyond one administration, and would love the oppertunity to bring this to MSA.
In the past, I have been an advocate with Can't Convert Love MN seeking to ban harmful LGBTQ conversion therapy in Minnesota. I serve as a member of the Student Legal Services Board of Directors, where I help guide the strategic direction of a industry leading organization.
Simran's Experiences:
I am a Sophomore studying Finance and Computer Science. I serve as Co-Director of Diversity and Inclusion in MSA. I oversee multiple projects that bring power and representation to groups who have systematically been denied power and representation. In the past, I have organized campaigns such as "Not Just Words" and "Connecting Carlson" to promote a better campus climate and initiate difficult conversations. I am also a member of the Indian Student Association and the Office of Equity and Diversity Student Advisory Board. As an immigrant, I believe it is more important than ever that student body leaders work with compassion and kindness. Charlie and I will lead with passion and dedication; our priority is ensuring all students have the resources they need to succeed.
