Charlie B Heartworm Treatment

Hi my name is Mariel and about 2 weeks ago, my fiance and I rescued our 1.3 yr old dog Charlie. He is a timid dog who has been abused and have not been taken care of (malnourished, ears cut by wires). We are currently his 5th home in less than 1 year and he is learning to trust again and feeling safe. Well as of 8/18, when we took him to the vet, we found out that he was positive for hookworms and roundworms and heartworms.  The vet stated that there are males and females that are reproducing and that we need to start immediate treatment.

He will be going through a series of antibiotics, steroids, heartworm pills and vaccines which could take up to a year to clear up. The cost of the treatment is between $1,500 to $2,000 which is something we were not expecting and looking for anyone to help in any way they can. The money will go for Charlie's medical bills as he goes through his treatments to living a healthier and happy life.
