Charlie Jordan Emergency Medical Fund
Donation protected
Hello everyone. I am creating this GoFundMe for my “third son” -
Charlie Jordan. I have known Charlie for 30 of his 31 years. Charlie is the most energetic, ethical, moral, hard working person I know. He is an Eagle Scout with a heart of Gold. Charlie has been living his dream life in Sitka, AK working for the National Park Service, running a kayaking business, and being a volunteer EMT for the Sitka Fire Department.
On September 25th he was rushed to the hospital with severe abdominal pain. Many ER trips and a 6 day hospital stay later - his condition had only worsened. Eventually it was recognized that his bowel had perforated and an emergency surgery ensued to try and save his life. He survived the surgery but has about 6 inches less colon than before. As you might imagine, he has many months of recovery and multiple surgeries still ahead of him.
Sitka doesn’t have the same level of care and access to specialists as we are blessed to have in the lower forty-eight. The goal now is to get him stable enough to transport him to Texas where his parents can supervise his recovery. His parents are now tasked with traveling to Alaska to pack up his home and put it in storage for the foreseeable future and getting his best friend - Roper (the three legged wonder dog) home, as well.
Charlie has been on sick leave without pay since September 25th with no idea when or if he will ever be able to return. The flight home will require a private nurse to fly with him. Not to mention the bills from these multiple extended hospital stays and surgeries.
ANYthing you can spare will go directly to his medical expenses and medical travel. I feel helpless sitting on the sidelines. The Jordan’s have been our closest friends for 30 years. Please consider giving, even if it’s a dollar! Thank you and God Bless!
