Charlie Neff Medical Fund

My stepdad, Charlie Neff, has polycystic kidney disease (PKD). It is commonly called the silent killer.




Charlie Neff is an amazing person. Loyal, hard working, kind, caring, fun, and hard headed. He doesn’t ask for help, but is always willing to give it. He helped raise me and my 2 sisters, even long after he and my mother split. I 100% consider him a parent to us; him and my dad are even best friends. To not be able to visit him in the hospital, to not be able to help him or take his pain away, is torturous.



Last Thursday, Charlie ended up in the Emergency room with severe back pain. Now anybody who knows him will understand how excruciating the pain must be for Charlie to seek any form of help. He had a large cyst in his kidney rupture and cause internal bleeding. Currently his kidney function is at 26%, and he is still in pain.


The doctors are trying to decrease his pain and internal bleeding; he is on a new medication that can decrease the size of the cyst, and hopefully that will decrease his pain. But he has large cysts on both of his kidneys, and some on his liver. Eventually, he will need a kidney transplant. We are trying to get a head start on this by raising money and hopefully finding a donor. Many of us in the family will be testing if we are a match for him, and we are reaching out to any other potential donors.


Charlies blood type is O negative, but anybody with O type blood (positive or negative) is a potential match. So if you are willing to find out if you’re a match, please reach out to me or Charlie’s brother, Ed Neff.


We are raising money to help with the bills of his current hospital stay as well as future medical expenses, such as a kidney transplant.


Charlie is a very loved man. And everybody who knows him know how rarely he asks for help, and that he doesn’t often accept help easily. And this is an extremely difficult situation for all of us. Anything, every little bit, will help us. And please share this as well. Thank you so much.
