Charlie Ridgeway's Pancreatic Cancer Fight
Donation protected
I am Valerie Moody, and I am establishing this Go Fund Me for my best friend and her husband. Charlie Ridgeway was diagnosed with Stage 4 Adenoma Pancreatic Cancer on July 13, 2022. Adenocarcinoma is the most common type of pancreatic cancer, accounting for more than 90 percent of pancreatic cancer diagnoses. This cancer occurs in the lining of the ducts in the pancreas. It's also possible for adenocarcinoma to develop from the cells that create pancreatic enzymes. Charlie had experienced intense pain and trouble eating for a few weeks prior to his diagnosis. He and Heather are both employed with Aiken County School District. Charlie is the ISS (In School Suspension) monitor where he impacts students to do better and be better while Heather is a Special Education Teacher at the local high school.
Charlie's life has always been centered around helping other people. He is widely known as a person that will do anything for anyone even if it means giving everything he has and going without. The lives he has touched in his short 52 years are innumerable. As many people know, Cancer is NOT cheap. While his insurance will cover some of the cost associated with his chemotherapy and medicine, it will not cover all of it. This can result in huge medical bills. Also, because of his chemotherapy visits, Charlie will likely be missing work each time. The money you donate will be used to cover his medical bills, medicine, and will also be used to help cover the cost of transportation to and from Chemo, as well as the protein supplements he will need in order to maintain his strength.
Charlie's oncologist, Dr. Flanders, has reported that with the care that Charlie is receiving as well as the support of his friends and family and Charlie's desire to live and see his 25th Anniversary with his wife, Heather, Charlie can beat this! Your help will ensure that he can do this. If you cannot donate money at this time, please visit his Caring Bridge site to donate your time or meals. Any and all help is appreciated and welcomed. But most of all, your help will be a tremendous blessing to a man that has dedicated his life to blessing others.
