Charlie's Medical & Travel Expenses
From Jason and Tina:
After our most recent hospitalization in mid Jan 2020, our sweet boy was diagnosed with Job syndrome (Hyper IGE Syndrome). This is a primary immune deficiency that targets his skin and lungs in a progressive manner. He is 1 in about 250 documented cases. We have spent a majority of the last 2 years of our life struggling to keep him healthy. One doctor said that were “lucky” to have discovered this condition while Charlie is so young. Due to the rarity and severity of this condition, it is imperative that we are able to obtain proper treatment. We know that God has a plan for Charlie’s life.
Dr. Josh Milner, Director of Immunology at New York Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital (New York, NY), will be heading up Charlie's case. Our first step is to get to NY to Dr. Milner.” In the next few weeks. Charlie’s insurance will cover some of the testing but much of the treatment will be out of pocket as well as the cost for travel. While we prepare for travel to New York, in the interim, Dr. Milner needs Charlie to begin injections of biologics to help his immune system. This medication is not covered by insurance and costs $40,000 a year.
We will continue to update as we go. We ask that you guys would join us is praying for his healing and provision for treatment and travel. Everything could change tomorrow... Thank you for joining us in this fight!
