Charlie Mahon Funeral Expenses

Hello everyone! I’ve created this go fund me page on behalf of the Mahon family. They are in need of financial help to cover the cost of their beloved Husband and Fathers funeral expenses and kind and encouraging words during this very difficult time. I want to focus this message on the life that Charlie led and not the senseless crime that took his life. Charlie Mahon of Columbus Ohio was 61 years young .He had a wife Betty who suffers from many health problems whom he dedicated his years to taking care of. Even at 61 Charlie was in good health he quit smoking and changed his life to insure he could live as long as possible to be there for his family and had many years to look forward to. Charlie was the rock of this family he stood by his 4 children though many trying times, he showed them love and affection, he taught them that at the end of the day what matters most it FAMILY. Charlie held this family together with firm beliefs, caring words, but most importantly with his devotion and love. He dedicated his life to his family and friends, if you ever needed advice, a ride to work, or a shoulder to cry on you could be sure of one thing, Charlie would always be there for you. Aside from his family Charlie had a passion for music he was a true rocker at heart, he would spend hours at night going through old records and playing the drums on the kitchen table, he loved to sing karaoke. He was a peacemaker, if there was a problem and Charlie was around he would intervene and try to help that’s just who he was. Charlie was a modest man, when you looked at him you didn’t see a man of fortune but with one conversation you could appreciate the wealth of knowledge, compassion, and resilience he carried.

 

On the evening of Monday July 20th, 2015 the Mahon family was shattered. The man that had spent the better part of his life protecting, supporting, and loving his family was shot and killed by a drive by shooter. Charlie was standing at his front door when the suspects drove by and fired 5 shots one striking him in the head .The motive at this time is unclear and still under investigation. One thing that is very clear Charlie was an innocent victim minding his own business in his home, in the same neighborhood he lived for over 25 years.  This senseless crime has devastated family and friends. The man that tried to bring peace now gone by an outrageous act of violence. This family is still trying to process everything that happened that night, losing a husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, in an instant. Charlie and his wife did not have arrangements made to cover the cost of funeral expenses. I am asking for your help on behalf of this family to donate to help cover costs for Charlie’s funeral expenses. No amount is too small and every dollar will be extremely appreciated. I would also like to take a moment to spread the word that the suspects associated with Charlie Mahons’ murder are still at large. 21 year old black male Jalen Rashaad Hall and 20 year old black female Alexa S.
