Charlie-peter’s life saving treatment

Charlie-Peter’s story- After a brutal knife attack back in Thailand 2015, causing him to nearly lose his eye. Charlie-Peter spent three years at the Soi Dog Foundation recovering and learning to trust again. Despite unimaginable trauma, he defied the odds and captured the hearts of many. His sweet nature and bravery proved him to be resilient.
In November 2017, Charlie-Peter met his soulmate, Holly. What started as a day visit to Soi Dog, turned into weeks of volunteering. They created an unbreakable bond. Charlie-Peter travelled to the UK and has lived with Holly and her family ever since on a farm in Cambridgeshire.
Their furry tail ending came crashing down just a few weeks ago.
A message from Holly -
Hey everyone!
Charlie-Peter and I really need your help and healing vibes please
We nearly lost CP last Thursday during a complication whilst he was in recovery after a nasty flare up with inflammatory bowel disease. CP had already been admitted at the referral hospital for 1 week already going through intensive diagnostic work-ups after loosing some weight after a short period of time.
Not only was he attacked with a machete in Thailand but he was shot also! During full body x-rays last week they found a bullet in his shoulder. We can’t believe what this boy has been through!
Last Thursday CP aspirated his stomach fluid which went straight into his chest leading to respiratory distress and aspiration pneumonia. We received a call from the hospital to say we needed to go and see him immediately as they thought he wouldn’t survive.
He was in an awful state, not CP at all. By some miracle CP has pulled through, he is fighting and we are fighting with him.
He is receiving the best treatment and will continue treatment at Dick White referrals until they are happy for me to continue nursing him at home.
Thankfully I am a registered veterinary nurse so he will have qualified home care.
All of this treatment has maxed out CP’s insurance. We have no money left until the policy renews in July.
My Family and I have managed to save the £10,000 to bring him home but we aren’t out of the woods yet. We would like to try and raise funds for his medication, special diet and check-ups over the coming months.
He has certainly won the hearts of all the vets and nurses looking after him ❤️
Ultimately the vets believe he will get through this and we will be there to fight with him !
To have another year or few years with my best friend would be a dream come true, I love this little dog. The last few weeks without him at home have been so worrying but I know he is in the best place receiving the best care by leading specialists in their field.
If anyone can spread the word to help Charlie-Peter I would be eternally grateful ❤️
