Charlie’s emergency life saving surgery

Hi, my name is Sandy and my little man Charlie became very sick this morning (March 18) out of nowhere. He is an 8 year old West Highland White Terrier. He has always been very healthy and spoiled. This morning he started shaking, panting, walking weird, his abdomen was rock hard and swollen and his gums were almost white. I rushed him to the emergency vet hospital where he was admitted immediately. Upon doing full blood work, a bunch of X-rays and ultrasounds, a large mass was discovered on Charlie’s spleen. He also has internal bleeding probably from the mass. The hospital is keeping him overnight to perform a splenectomy where they will remove the mass and the spleen. This is a high risk surgery with a 50/50 chance of being cancerous. If I don’t do the surgery the mass will eventually rupture and Charlie will die. I am beyond devastated.

Charlie has an older sister, Oxley, who needed two TPLO (knee surgery) in late 2021. Those two surgeries cost me $10,000. It completely depleted my savings. On top of that, I’m a small hair salon owner, I’ve been hit very hard with Covid and still am being greatly affected with all the last minute cancellations due to clients being sick. It’s never ending. Now I’ve been given a quote for Charlie that exceeds $10,000 and I just simply don’t have the money available. It will be put on credit cards and I will be in debt with high interest amounts. My fiancée and I have decided to postpone our wedding because of this and put whatever little amount we had saved up for the wedding towards this surgery. I don’t normally ask for help, it’s just not something I do, but now I am. I need financial help with this. Any amount that you can donate towards Charlie’s surgery cost will help.
