During these times of Covid19 and racial injustices, we have found many more persons within these vulnerable communities are struggling to obtain the services they need. More families are seeking services with few options to provide Culturally Humble services with a Trauma-Informed framework.
We are in times of high stress, trauma and unpredictability, suicide rates are increasing, violence and abuse has dramatically increased and the ability to maintain employment has decreased as a result of high symptoms of anxiety and depression.
Mental Healing and Wellness are at a premium right now. And while the challenges aren’t new, the widespread inability to continue ignoring them is.
For many of us, we have spent years addressing the needs of others in our families, friendships, and places of employment while putting ourselves on the back burner, numbing ourselves with food, substances, unhealthy relationships, and even work.
While these strategies have worked well enough for a long time, in the midst of the pandemic and the heightened awareness of the lifelong ills of injustice, systemic racism, and trauma, for many of us, it has come to a head.
And although the challenges of achieving Mental Wellness don’t discriminate, the ability to push through stigma and safely access quality, culturally responsive care at times has.
Harmony Health Therapeutic Services and Perry Counseling Healing and Recovery are committed to responding to the current needs of our community with an urgency for folks who are in need, but have not seen the opportunity for addressing their mental, emotional, and spiritual needs as in reach.
We are partnering to raise funds to subsidize healing opportunities for our community, with a special emphasis on our Black community in this time of need in our community.
Providing individual, group, and family counseling while also offering tools such as drum circles, and raised garden beds, we are committed to helping people find the healing support they need.
Our goal is to partner with members of our community to support their healing, restoration, and work towards finding balance and serenity in the midst of what may seem like insurmountable storms.
Both practices are trauma informed and healing centered, believing in empowering people while incorporating natural supports and strengths.
Join us in this call to action, as we help partner in the work of building a whole and healthy Charlotte community!
During this pivotal Black Philanthropy Month, we are launching this initiative over the next 6 MONTHS pairing a Black female owned and a Black male owned practice to demonstrate shared purpose, vision, and commitment to our community.
