Charlotte's National Invention Convention Trip

Hi!

 

My name is Charlotte Hober, and I am in 5th Grade at Sorensen Magnet School in Coeur D Alene, Idaho. I qualified for the US Nationals Invention Convention at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan with my board game Sensory Springs. This is the third year I have qualified for the National Competition. The competition has been virtual for the past two years due to COVID-19. The first year, my invention, Emotional Emojis, won first place for third grade entries and best in category for games and gadgets. Last year my invention, The Wattch also qualified for Nationals. My current invention is a board game called Sensory Springs. This is a game to help kids with sensory processing disorder to go about their daily life feeling more calm and focused. I am excited to have the opportunity to go to Nationals live this year and pitch my invention to the judges in person!  In order to make it to Nationals I had to advance from my school competition to our district competition, then our regional competition and finally the state competition.  Only 19 students from the state of Idaho advanced to the National competition.  

 

Registration for myself and 1 adult chaperone is $675.

2 Roundtrip airline tickets to Detroit, Michigan: Cheapest flights currently are around $1,400.

Hotel room for 6 nights at $150 per night: $900 before tax.

 

I am hoping about $3,500 will cover the total cost of the trip. I received a $500 scholarship from Invention Convention of Idaho so I am asking for $3,000 in donations to get to Nationals!
