Crystal Hart, Bangkok Trek 2015
Donation protected
Hello Family and Friends,
I am writing you from UC Davis. I am finishing up my sophomore year and having a great time with my surrounding Aggie community. Apart from school and work, I am involved with InterVarsity, a Christian Fellowship here on campus, which has impacted my college experience in a really unique and positive way. I have learned of God's love for all people and his heart for freedom. I also want to be able to share what I have received with others.
This Summer, I have been given the opportunity to share His grace and continue learning through the Global Urban Trek. I will be going to Bangkok, Thailand for 6 weeks to live with and serve alongside the urban poor in a slum community. Specifically, I will be serving with at-risk youth, physically and mentally handicapped adults, and children. Bangkok is also a city plagued by sex trafficking. As a young woman, I am looking forward to serving women that are trapped in the sex-slave industry.
During this trek, I know that God will use me to make a difference in the lives of these people, but they will no doubt impact my life as well. Through their hospitality, I hope to challenge my own perceptions and gain a greater understanding of poverty. As I prepare, I ask that you join me in the process and support me through prayer. First, that our team would be unified and granted a safe stay while in Bangkok. Second, I ask that you pray for God to work through us in our actions, conversations, and relationships formed. And lastly, I ask that you please pray for God's financial provision, as I have to fundraise $3,800 by May 15th to cover housing, food, and transportation. If you feel led to consider supporting me financially, please click the donate now button on my page and follow the steps. Thank you for keeping me in your prayers and/or supporting me in sharing God's love for Bangkok.God Bless!
