Chase Kay Family heart and lung transplant
Donation protected
Chase was born with a congenital heart defect that has presented numerous challenges throughout his 34 years of life. He had a switch surgery at 4 months old. He had no problems until the age of 20, when he had open heart surgery to repair the aortic valve and coronary artery. In March he had his gallbladder removed and has since found out that his heart is failing. Chase has had two lengthy hospital stays and is currently in the ICU.
This has all happened very rapidly. He desperately needs a heart and lung transplant for his only chance of survival. This sudden turn of events has left Chase, his wife, and their young family reeling. They have a four-year-old son and are expecting a baby girl in 4 weeks. The thought of not being there for his children as they grow up is a heartbreaking reality that he and his family are grappling with.
He is likely to undergo the heart and lung transplant at Stanford Hospital in California, where he will receive the specialized care and expertise needed to give him a new lease on life. He and his family are going to have to relocate out of state for up to a year. However, the cost of the transplant and post-operative care is overwhelming, and Chase and his family are in need of financial assistance to cover these expenses.
We are reaching out to family, our community, friends, and kind-hearted strangers for support. He has been an electrician for over 16 years and has not been able to work. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a difference in Chase's journey towards recovery and healing. Your generosity will not only help alleviate the financial burden but also provide his wife and two children with financial stability.
