To all that had the pleasure of knowing Chase, and to all that will know a little about Chase after reading, my name is Richard Startek and I am the proud father of Chase Robert Startek. Chase was best friend to his adoring mother, Tiffanie and his big brother, Cole. Our family is honored to advance this campaign in his memory.
It is with profound sadness that we have said good-bye to our son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, friend and all around caring young man, Chase Startek. Words cannot describe the loss felt by so many who have been touched by Chase’s genuine love and kindness. Chase was a beacon of light to his family, friends and all that had the pleasure knowing him. Chase was equally loving and kind to strangers.
During this time of heartbreaking loss, Chase would want his family and friends to not experience enduring grief, but to remember him by the love, care, joy and compassion with which he lived his life and to spread the same in their daily lives in an attempt to make this world a slightly better place for others and our animal friends. Chase did not treat others as he wished to be treated; he treated them better. To honor Chase, his family has started this memorial fundraising campaign in an effort to assist others and organizations in their pursuit of causes near and dear to Chase.
Chase was a very focused and dedicated young man who put all of his effort into everything he wished to accomplish. He focused on his relationships the same way. He gave his all. Chase focused steadfastly on his goals while at the same time supporting others in their achievements. Chase studied hard and graduated high school early. While in his grade 12 year, Chase worked as a dishwasher at a local restaurant. Within a short period of time Chase was promoted as a result of his service and dedication. Chase's commitment to his family, friends and goals is captured in his trademark line, "I got you". No matter the favor, request or task, everyone knew Chase "got them".
Chase planned to attend college to study the science of social work and psychology. Chase's career plan was focused on helping others, specifically adolescence. He was beyond excited for the next chapter of his life to begin.
Chase was happiest when with his family, friends or his rescued dogs, Cowboy and Diamond. Chased loved nature, being outdoors and enjoyed hiking the trails of Colorado. Chase had a deep affection for abused and discounted animals and spent much time tending to rescued pets and farm animals that had been neglected and abused.
Chase lived a life filled with love, compassion, and dedication to helping others, both human and animal alike. Creating a memorial fundraising campaign to support causes that were dear to Chase's heart is a wonderful way to honor his memory and continue his legacy of kindness and generosity.
In Chase’s memory, the Startek family will support causes close to Chase, including the providing of scholarships and financial education awards to assist students attending for post-secondary education, animal shelters and rescues, wildlife preservation, youth and community services, mental health awareness organizations and more.
Chase’s passion for nature, his love for family and friends, and his commitment to making this world a better place shine through in these words. Chase touched so many lives with his genuine care and positivity. Help us continue to do the same in his memory. Chase, "we got you".
Funds raised will be administered such that Chase’s legacy will be advanced for years to come.
