#CHASESTRONG for Chase Smith
Donación protegida
On July 3, 2014, Chase Smith started what will be a very intense battle against Ewings sarcoma, a rare form of cancer. Chase is not alone in this battle, as he has a full army of supporters to help him. Parents Brad and Kelli Smith, along with older sister Kaitlin Smith, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and all of the Trafalgar, Indiana community are committed to fight this battle head-on with everything they have!
The Smith family spends their lives devoted to four main things--God, Family, Swimming, and School
God comes first! The family has amazing support from their local family and friends at Fair Haven Christian Church. Chase’s favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:13 “ I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.”
Family comes second. The Smith’s are extremely lucky to have both sets of grandparents available locally to help in this battle. Along with aunts, uncles, cousins and a huge group of “family by choice, not blood," Chase is not alone in this battle!
Third is Swimming. With Philippians 4:13 always on his mind, Chase has become a force to be reckoned with in the pool! With his dad by his side on deck, and his mom, sister, family and friends in the stands, Chase has racked up a huge list of accomplishments! He is currently ranked 13th in the nation for 100 meter butterfly for his age group, 6-time state champion, and current record holder for the 100 meter IM, 100 meter freestyle, and three relays at Indiana Creek Middle School. Chase has also represented team Indiana at 5 all-star meets and 2 camps.
Forth is School. School is in the Smith family blood! Chase enjoys hanging out with his buddies, and playing any sport. Brad Smith (aka Dad) is a 8th grade H.E.A.R.T. Teacher. When not in the classroom, Brad is almost always found on a swim deck serving as head coach for Indian Creek Aquatic Club and both the high school and middle school swimming teams. Kelli Smith (aka Mom) has spent years touching the lives of so many by serving the community as a kindergarten teacher. She also takes her love of kids to the pool and works as a developmental coach for Indiana Creek Aquatic Club. Kaitlin Smith (aka Big Sis) is entering her senior year of high school and dreams of becoming a teacher and swim coach just like mom & dad. Kaitlin is currently responsible for overseeing the swim school that Indiana Creek Aquatic Club offers the community.
Everyone's primary focus is on Chase's fight; however, we know financially his family will need support with the overwhelming cost of this battle. All donations will go directly to the #CHASESTRONG fund to be used by the Smith family for upcoming medical and incidental expenses.
We would like to thank everyone in the local community, as well as the national swim community for their overwhelming outpouring of support for Chase during this difficult time.
Please help a family that has been such a huge benefit to our community!
