Help me to serve through Medicine, with family in my heart.

My name is Uchechi Patrick, and I’m from Nigeria. Thank you for taking a moment to read my story.

I embarked on my educational journey on October 12, 2012, at Spartan Health Science University in Saint Lucia. As the eldest of five siblings, my parents hoped that studying abroad would provide me with better opportunities and enable me to support my siblings financially.

The loss of my father in 2014 profoundly impacted my family and me. My mother had to take on the responsibility of raising five children alone, which was incredibly challenging. Her business struggled due to Nigeria's economic conditions, affecting her finances and causing her stress about my school fees.

In 2017, I completed my basic sciences and was ready to start medical rotations when everything took a turn for the worse. My mother fell ill, preventing her from working and worsening her health due to stress. Consequently, my education came to a halt, and financial support from home ceased.
Being far from home without an allowance, I had to find work. As a student with limited options, I worked at a construction site. In 2020, my mother's illness claimed her life, leaving me with a profound sense of loss. I couldn’t afford to return home for her burial, which added to my worries about taking care of my siblings and completing my education.
Despite these overwhelming trials, I have been striving to save up for my tuition. I found jobs at a call center and later as a therapist assistant at an orthopedic clinic.

After a four-year hiatus, I resumed my studies at Texila American University, but I am still struggling to pay my fees. I currently work at a nursing home, yet I am unable to gather the necessary funds for my tuition.
I need your help to raise USD 35,500 (approx. 50,000 CAD) for my tuition and fees. Your kindness and generosity will bring hope to me and my siblings during this desperate time. Your support will help me achieve my dreams, enable me to care for my siblings, and allow me to give back to the world by helping others in need and saving lives as a medical practitioner.

Every donation, no matter how small, will be deeply appreciated. All funds will go directly to the university.

Sincerely,
Uchechi Patrick.
