Chasing the 70.3 World Champs Dream

Donation protected
I have been doing sprint triathlons for 5 years competing for Cardiff Met University.  After completing a 6 month internship with Ironman over the summer, I was inspired by watching so many complete the challenge.

The training for triathlon is about mastering three different events, swimming, cycling and running.  A lot of the training is done in the early morning or after work, it can take up to 5 hours a day depending on the day.  I have been very lucky that my friends and family have been very supportive of my training, the first step of my journey was developing a 16 week program that would be flexible enough to fit in full-time work and full-time university studying my MSc.

On Sunday 10th I completed my 1st Half Ironman triathlon in 7hrs 30mins, this was a great achievement as I was worried about being cut off on the bike. I was very fortunate to get a slot for 70.3 World Championships in South Africa!! This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for me to go to a World Championships, however within Ironman athletes have to fully fund the entry fee and the trip themselves.

The breakdown for the trip includes the flight to South Africa, accommodation package for eight nights, bike insurance and shipping to South Africa.

I will be racing on the 1st/2nd September 2018, I will use social media to keep everyone up to date on my training progress and the race its self. Thank you so much for helping me to purse my dream of competing at the 70.3 World Champs.
