CHÉ LAM Fashion Show Fundraiser

I am both excited and grateful to announce that I will be hosting my first independent fashion show this winter. As the date draws closer, I want to share a bit about the project and why this means so much to me. My journey as a mother, designer, and woman living and growing in Lawrence has been filled with countless people and moments that have inspired not only this collection but every element of the show. From the team of artists working behind the scenes to the colors and textures of the fabrics used to create each piece - this next step of my journey is about paying homage to my upbringing, my influences, and the vibrant memories that have shaped me.

When experiencing the final result, I hope that you’ll see more than just clothing. Every detail of this project is a thread of my story, woven together to create a project that embodies the essence of who I am and who I hope to become. The designs are more than just garments; they are living memories that I carry with me.

Growing up, my mother always encouraged me to be honest with myself. When things were out of my control, she taught me the importance of letting go and that there is peace in being calm. In essence, she taught me how to be free. Deciding to put on this show is my way of saying thank you not only to her, but to the the city that has embraced and nurtured me. Believing in myself as a creative has meant releasing all of the noise, and finally pursuing this dream. I am so proud to celebrate fashion in a way that speaks to the love that I have for Lawrence, my family, and my community.

I am reaching out to ask for support in bringing this project to life. All donations will go towards production costs for the show, and ensuring that my team and I can put on the best event possible.
