CHEER for Jenny Lester's TV show
Donation protected
“Wildlife ON: Sandy Pines” is a wildlife rescue tv series for families. Its stories about animals will show how all of nature is interconnected. Read on for more.
Sandy Pines Wildlife Centre is one the largest such facilities in Canada. Based outside the Ontario town of Napanee - between the cities of Belleville and Kingston - the centre serves human and animal populations by responding to wildlife health crises every single day. Sandy Pines has operated for 30 years without any government funding. Its large, unofficial catchment area spans the province's south-east. The facility's budget is based entirely on donations.
Various producers and tv crews have visited Sandy Pines to film over the years. Each time the facility has been featured in a show, public donations have increased. "Wildlife ON: Sandy Pines" will be the first show to make the place a central character in a series. Similar shows have been syndicated globally in multiple languages. Imagine how that could boost Sandy Pines' donations.
If this show gets funding, it helps Sandy Pines get funding. That's where you come in. Every penny you donate will help keep our cameras rolling.
"Wildlife ON: Sandy Pines" will take you behind the scenes with the rehab's director and co-founder, Sue Meech, and the amazing team performing this charitable work. The donation you make today will help bring this tv series to life.
My team spent two special days filming last August with Sue, her staff, her volunteers and the animals. Two of the animals in the resulting video are currently recovering. We plan to film their return home in December. The footage promises to be intimate, heartwarming and of a professional quality. To do this, a lot of time is spent coordinating people (and animals!) We also need stuff: equipment, software, hardware, gas money (and ice cream). Please contribute what you can to help with these expenses.
Crowdfunding isn't the only source of money we'll seek, but it sure helps. What it does best is inspire confidence in corporate sponsors, granting bodies, lending bodies and potential investors. That's why the amount of money you donate isn't the main goal; rather, it's the fact that you donated at all.
We believe recording and broadcasting these wildlife rescues helps spread the important message to viewers that every one thing in nature is connected to others. The show will increase Sandy Pines' support base exponentially - which means help for even more wildlife. Your donation today is a win for everyone.
Principal photography for "Wildlife ON: Sandy Pines" is scheduled to begin in the new year, with the series release to follow shortly thereafter. When you make your donation, make sure to leave your contact details so we an tell you when the show goes live!
