Donation protected
CHEERS is a Peer mentorship program for youth in foster care. The goal is to provide support with transition to independence, with the benefit of higher education and more choices in adult life.
Vision
One day all youth in Ontario who age out of foster care will walk excellent roads to success because they will be equipped with essential life skills, social supports, and higher education.
Mission
To facilitate a seamless and successful transition to independence for youth in foster care in Ontario. To allow former youth in care with successful transition experience the opportunity to mentor and inspire current youth in transition. To generate a mind shift where youth in and of care adopt a new perspective in life: “higher education and successful careers are within my reach”.
CHEERS achieves this mission by providing youth in transition with essential life skills, educational support, and the opportunity to develop healthy social support systems through peer mentorship.
