Cheeto & Keesha: Raising Funds after House Fire

I am reaching out to the community & anyone to help, in desperate need to raise funds for my families Two Kitties Cheeto & Keesha. Who experienced burns to their paws from Our Family Home catching on Fire on 

March 28th 2023. Our story:My parents Cheryl & Curt, and myself Nicki were asleep in our home when around 9:00 Am we were awoken to the smell of a fowl heavy smoke coming into our rooms. We rushed to down the hallway to find that our kitchen was engulfed in flames. We rushed to try and find water to put it out but it was too late because the flames and smoke from the fire were moving at a intensive fast speed threw our home. I rushed back to my room to try and grab some gallons of water I had for my indoor plants but when I opened my door back up the flames and smoke were so thick there was no chance of making it back to the kitchen to try and put it out. I than quickly closed my door and tried to attempt to save my cats that slept in my room. My cats were terrified hiding in the closet, and I tried everything I could to reach them but the flames and thick black smoke entered to my room. With only seconds to spare I had to try and escape my bedroom. My AC unit was blocking a clear way to get out.. with several attempts it was so tightly in place from being screwed in with nails that I finally had to use force and punch the wooden frame and AC unit out. It finally broke free and I was able to quickly crawl out. There I was met with my Father Curt who came around the backyards patio, and the yard was filled with smoke where we could barley see in front of us... My fathers big heart for cats too tried to attempt to re-enter my bedroom window to try and save more cats. Only a few were able to escape from entry ways we had broken open and doors that were left open. Tragically several of our loved fur babies perished in the fire. But we were fortunate and so greatful a few of our kitties survived. Our two kitties suffered heavy burns to their paws from the fire as well as smoke inhalation, and peices of melted plastic from the structure stuck to their fur. We immediately rushed the two kitties to Atlantic Pet Hospital in Roseville CA nearby. The staff at the facility, immediately took them in and put Cheeto & Keesha on Oxygen, pain medications, shaved off the peices of plastic on their fur, and treated their burns to their paws. Successfully after going threw a high fevered temperature, they were taken off of oxygen and are now recovering at a place that took them in temporary for us at Feild Haven Feline Center in Lincoln CA. They responded quickly to help us board them and care for them while we are in the process of finding a home for rent since our home in Elverta is completely destroyed from the fire. They have been wonderful helping us care for our kitties. We are struggling though now with the financial costs of Cheeto & Keeshas Bandage changes to reduce infection. Because they have to go to a special Veterinarian who has to put them both under anesthesia to remove old bandages and wrap new bandages anywhere from every few days in the very beginning to now once a week. Each time this takes place it's costs $750.00 per cat. And they are both taken together for the bandage change costing a total combined $1,500.00 per visit. There is no cost too great when it comes to our kitties but due to our unfortunate circumstances and already financial loss from the house fire we are in desperate need for anyone willing to donate. My Family would be forever greatful and beyond blessed for any help rather big or small. Anything helps. ❤️ My parents & I have committed our entire lives to our Cats we have raised threwout time and they mean absolutely everything to us. We are so thankful that Cheeto & Keesha are going to be okay, it's just a slow healing process. But by the grace of God and the outpour of love from our community miracles do happen.
