Chef Lance Seeto needs your help in Fiji
Bula from Fiji - family, friends and colleagues! The COVID pandemic has severely effected many businesses globally but in Fiji we are without the same small business support. Having invested all my savings into my KANU Restaurant last year, I had hoped to trade on local business until international tourism returned. The current Delta variant has put those plans on hold for another 6 months as internal borders remain closed until Fiji reaches a targetted 80% full vaccination, which is expected to be the end of November 2021. We are current trading off limited takeaway in the Nadi area but with no tourism and limited local business due to the internal closures, I have to fend for myself for a bit longer. On the bright side, KANU has become the top restaurant for Nadi and despite limited sales, we have managed to capture most of the potential sales based on my reputation and goodwill.
I have therefore decided that instead of just giving up (which is not even a possibility), I urgently need outside help - YOUR HELP - to provide some bridging funds to ride out this storm. The funds raised are to support the restaurant and help me personally survive, providing me with a 6-month lifeline to keep our doors open. We will continue our innovation and lead the way to inspire a vibrant food scene for locals to enjoy until international tourism returns. Funds raised go directly to paying for utilities and rent which are approx FJ$5000/AU$3200 per month. Our takeaway sales are enough to cover food costs and staff but not operating costs.
I know these are hard times for everyone, but if enough people chip in a small amount, I can keep my dream alive and continue to build a new foodie destination for YOU to visit next year. You don't have to donate huge amounts, even a monthly donation will help my cashflow. Thanks for considering to help me. My family, friends and Aussie colleagues are now my last resort to ask for help.
Vinaka vaka levu,
Lance
