Chef Willie Support

One of the best things about being in QCYC is how we support each other in times of need. And now we have an opportunity to help one of our own. Willie & Peg have been part of our club since 2005, and as Honorary Members, have worked for 15 years as the couple who keep our galley running with all kinds of yummy treats.
This pandemic has hit them especially hard. As much as we enjoy the regular meals they provide, their real bread and butter comes from catering events. Since the pandemic doesn’t allow for any kind of an event, this has impacted Willie & Peg more seriously than many restaurants.
Like a “Perfect Storm”, swirled in with the pandemic, Willie is getting a new hip that will take him out of commission for at least a month, maybe more. He is on a “next available” operating list, and that may put him under the knife without much notice at all.
As the Commodore of QCYC, and a friend of Willie & Peg’s, I’m asking all of you if we can help these valued friends with a little support. I’m hopeful our generosity will help them through these tough times, and show them how much we appreciate what they do for us, and how eager we are to have them remain in their vital roles at QCYC.
