I found out I had triple negative breast cancer when I was 25 I did my first chemo treatment the day after my 26th birthday. 28 now and still fighting. I had finished all my chemo treatments and had a double mastectomy done, well unfortunately I had a biopsy done and it did come back again a second time, even after all the chemo and the surgeries, I did everything I was supposed to do. I have a PET scan October 2nd 2020 to make sure the cancer did not spread any where else before I had my simple mastectomy with lymph node removal, because the second time it had came back and moved to the lymph nodes. After my simple mastectomy I opted to do radiation therapy because I had not tried this approach yet. Well I finished up radiation at the end of December 2020. Well I had my first scan February 19,2021 and it showed a swollen lymph node so I had went over right after my CT scan to get a biopsy done, well it showed that there was cancer in the lymph nodes that they tested. My oncologist and I both decided that it was time to get a second opinion on what the next steps should be so I will be traveling to Indy to see a breast cancer specialist and see if she has a plan on what we need to do next. She decided that a good approach would be immunotherapy since I have yet to try this approach and all the other chemotherapy treatments I had done were not working. Well I was on Keytruda when I started having horrible back pain, I complained of this back pain for 2 months up until I got an X-ray which showed nothing of course so we went ahead and did an MRI (insurance is a real pain) anyways that showed it had went into my spine. With that being said I needed a PET scan to see if this cancer has moved any where else, which it has! My liver, my spine, my hips, my lymph nodes in my neck, and back to the main place it loves my right breast scar tissue. So after getting this news we needed to move fast take me off Keytruda because ha that didn’t work and that is a whole bag of worms I’m not trying to open right now. Well I decided the second option was not enough I needed to go somewhere big so off to Texas I will be going to MD Anderson for my third opinion on what to do to finish this cancer because I’m sick of it and I have no idea why it wants to stick around. I have a six year old little girl who is my whole entire world and I have to be here for her no matter what!
