Chelsea's Fundraiser for LLS
Tax deductible
My journey with The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training started when I ran my first full marathon in 2013, but my desire to kick cancer's ass was ignited long before that. My dad is a leukemia survivor and I am so thankful to have him in my life. At the time of his diagnosis, only 25-30% of people survived Chronic Myeloid Leukemia, even with treatment. Today, the 5 year survival rate has increased to 72%, which is progress! My dad is my hero and I could not imagine my life without him. The money I raise will go to help find better treatments and cures for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma so that one day no one will have to lose a loved one to blood cancer. In addition to the fundraising I do through the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, I work in a cancer lab that is collectively trying to elucidate the underlying mechanisms of multiple cancer types. Both inside and out of the lab, I am committed to the cause!
Over the past several years I've run one full marathon, seven half marathons, and hundreds of training miles. Now that I've moved to Austin, TX I am training to run the Austin Half Marathon!
I don't plan to stop. As long as we are still searching for a cure, I will continue to run. I urge you to join me in the fight against cancer. This is a battle that cannot be fought alone. Every dollar helps and no amount is too little.
Can't donate? I always appreciate a little company on a run (hint, hint, nudge, nudge - let me guess... donating a $1 probably seems easier now than me dragging you outside?)
Thanks for taking the time to check out my page and together let's kick cancers ass!
