Chemotherapy, rent, and or moving expenses.

Hello everyone. We have just been dealt with some devastating news. The mother of my two beautiful stepdaughters has been diagnosed with colon cancer. She isn't covered by health insurance and has, at the time I'm writing this, had a one and a half week stay in the hospital and two surgeries here in Austin, TX. Which is why, unfortunately, we are making a huge ask here. Believe me, we know just how huge this ask is! We're are hoping your generosity will help us tackle the mountain of experiences that haven't even started rolling in yet.

See, Donna, was a Blue Star wife raising both of her daughters while her husband served in the Texas National Guard through two separate deployments, in Kosovo and then Afghanistan, all through the first eleven years of his twenty years of his service. Unfortunately, like too many military marriages, the relationship broke apart into a semi-amicable divorce, from the strain. After decades of clinical depression doing its worst to keep her down, she got up anyway. Every single day, pull herself up by the boot straps and make her way in this horrible economy. Working as a driver for Über, Lift, Favor and Door Dash to make her rent, pay her bills, buy food and be there for the girls when they need her. And did it without signing up for public assistance because the depression wouldn't let her.

Like I said she's already spent a week and a half in the hospital and has had two surgeries so far. Chemotherapy starts this week. She's had to leave the hospital with the tumor still in her because the surgeons couldn't remove it due to complications. She's not going to be able to return to work, driving, for quite some time. If at all.vShe will need at least two more surgeries. Meanwhile she's going to be staying with our youngest 26 year old daughter for assistance during treatment. Our daughters are going to be taking off from work a lot, to help mom during the treatments. Getting her to and from the doctors appointments, picking up prescriptions, cooking & cleaning all while holding mom's hair back when she needs it.

The medical bills alone are going to be astronomical. Donna is most likely going to permanently lose the place she's been renting since she isn't going to be working and won't be able to afford the rent and utilities. Needless to say but the lives of our whole family has changed as of right this moment, and it has change in a very bad way.

Donna is a very, very important piece of our family. We need her here with us. Your donation might just be the thing that helps her get through one more day, and then the next one after that.

We are asking for donations of any amount, however big or small. $5, $10. It all adds up to helping save a mother and a friend. Even if all you can do is share this gofundme so others who might see it. On behalf of our whole family, we'd like to thank you for your time and your help.
