Cheney, Kansas Firefighter CollapsesKWCH Channel 12 News Store- Cheney firefighter collapses at Fire
Cheney Volunteer firefighter, Shane Johnson, collapsed while on a grass fire on April 3rd at 4:30 pm. He became unresponsive and was transported to Via Christi St Francis. It was determined that he had a large brain bleed. During surgery, a blood clot (the size of a fist) was removed. He remains in critical condition at Via Christi St Francis.
He is married with four children (ages 13-24).
He has served the Cheney community as a volunteer firefighter and EMT for seven years. The Cheney Volunteer Fire Department is asking for individuals to 'give back' in the form of prayers and support to help his family during this time of need.
Our hopes are high, but our firefighter has a long road ahead of him. "Volunteers do not necessarily have the time; they just have the heart." ~Elizabeth Andrew
Thank you for your prayers and support.
