Cherwell Larder: Friends Feeding Friends.
Please watch this recent video about our work. The amazing National Lottery funding period is coming to an end and we could use your support.
We are a non-means-tested service providing essential surplus to our community. We provide food support, hygiene products, clothing, appliances, furniture, crockery, pet food, and more.
Our volunteers and delivery drivers are also users, building solidarity and sustainability of the larder long-term.
We are open to the public on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 11 - 2 at Exeter Hall in Kidlington. We run a community cafe using surplus where people can come for hot nutritious food and pay what they can, no questions asked.
Last year we helped 20,000 people with access through our surplus marketplace which gives people the dignity of choosing what they will take home and paying what they can rather than setting a minimum fee.
Our visitors come from all over Oxfordshire, some pooling money for fuel to reach us from towns and villages where no support exists, or where food banks require referrals and can only be used for limited periods of time.
We understand that food and essentials are fundamental human rights, and our team of volunteers is constantly working to access surplus from a wider network of supermarkets and growing spaces.
Funds raised support our running costs including a van for collections, volunteer expenses, facilities, utilities, kitchen staff, training, and food-safe equipment.
