CHERYL DUNCAN SIDES, 42yrs old of Dayton, TX
Diagnosed with Stage IV Colon Cancer
Cheryl was rushed into emergency surgery on Christmas Eve 2019.
A team of doctors worked to remove the entire right side of her colon, lower portion of her stomach, lap band, port, appendix, gallbladder, fallopian tubes, ovaries, nodules and lymph nodes.
Pathology reports confirmed Stage IV Colon Cancer on New Year's Eve 2019.
Cheryl is a 42yr old wife and mother of 4 children ranging in ages from 13-20yrs old. She is a hair dresser at the Magnolia Terrace in Crosby, TX. Due to hospital stays and surgery recovery she has not been able to work much since November 2019.
PLEASE PRAYERFULLY CONSIDER BLESSING CHERYL AND HER FAMILY WITH A MONETARY DONATION.
Due to loss of wages, co-pays, deductibles, prescription medications, Pet Scans, and additional required surgery in 2020, we are anticipating them to have a heavy financial burden. We are asking you to help lighten the financial burden so that she can focus on fighting this battle. NO ONE FIGHTS ALONE!
FIRST ROUND OF TREATMENTS:
Pet Scan
Surgery for Port
Chemo EVERY OTHER WEEK for 6months.
Pet Scan @3mo
Pet Scan @6mo
At that point, they'll determine whether or not the chemotherapy is working or not. If it is working, they will begin her on a "maintenance chemo" of some type. Cheryl will have to have chemo for the rest of her life.
Once Cheryl begins chemo, she will likely experience some short term side effects (possible hair loss, hyper sensitivity to cold, mouth sores, fatigue, nausea, etc). She could also experience some more permanent long term side effects. The side effects from the chemo will limit her ability to work the same schedule she did prior to cancer.
Eventually the cancer may spread and will likely go to the liver, lungs, and/or bones. At that time, another treatment plan will be formulated.
PLEASE JOIN US IN PRAYING THAT THIS CANCER DOES NOT SPREAD ANY FURTHER.
She does have insurance, but the copay's and deductibles are high.
$1200 per treatment ($2400/mo for chemo for the first six months)
$1200 per surgery required and we know she HAS to have the port and possibly another surgery after that on the liver. But the liver surgery has not yet been confirmed.
Medical bills from the holidays have already started to plague them. But now we are in a new year and their deductibles start all over again.
Our holidays were not near as holly and jolly in 2019 but we are doing our absolute best to make 2020 a year full of blessings and miracles. Please join us in being apart of the blessing.
It was not easy for Cheryl and her family to ask for help as they are hard working and usually the ones on the giving end. Please know, they will greatly appreciate each and every gift given.
Our family is earnestly praying that each giver is blessed 100 fold.
Cheryl Duncan Sides is my sister.
I will be withdrawing the funds and hand delivering them to her and her family on a weekly basis until we reach our goal.
I will issue her a check from my account after each withdrawal for her and her family to use toward medical expenses.
