Cheryl & Elmer Wallen

I am trying to raise money for a couple who are in need of help. I met Cheryl in graduate school. We both were in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. Cheryl graduated and has devoted her life to helping others with Mental Health issues. Today they are facing a crisis of their own. Elmer was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma almost four years ago. He has fought a very brave fight against cancer but it is now clear that he will not win. Elmer is in hospice currently. Cheryl and Elmer have been married for 41 years. They have two adult children and 7 grandchildren, with number 8 on the way. Almost all of us know someone who has been effected by cancer in one way or another. Once you are aware that the battle will not be won, the most you can hope for is time. That is what Cheryl needs help with. As a self employed therapist, she has no means of supporting the household unless she works. Precious hours she is spending to take care of others is time she is spending away Elmer. The goal is to help Cheryl spend more time at home with Elmer and less time at work. Please help give the gift of time. Any amount will help. Thank you!
