Cheryl Newton

Hi,

For those that don't know me, I'm Ashley. Cheryl Newton is my mom and when I say it's been a rough few years, it really has been. My mom was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer and we recently learned that it got more aggressive and has spread and grown throughout her liver, bones and lymph nodes.

My mom is the caregiver for my niece and my two nephews, and recently lost my dad (her husband of over 40 years), to Early Onset Alzheimer's, which also meant losing that stream of income. Right after my dad passed, their landlord raised their rent by $500/month, making it impossible for my mom to be able to afford to stay in the place she has called home for nearly a decade.

My mom needs to be able to come up with first, last and security for a new home while trying to figure out how to come up with the money to pay her current rent and still be able to buy groceries. We thought that after she was done caring for my dad she would be able to begin a new chapter in her life... I hate that instead, she is dealing with a terminal illness, and also has to worry about putting food on the table and keeping a roof over her head. No family should have to go through that. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated!
