Cheryl's kidney gift
Donation protected
In a little less than 3 weeks on May 1st, our friend Cheryl will be fulfilling one of the most selfless acts that one can do. She is donating her kidney to another dear friend who has been in kidney failure for many years. It is extremely difficult to find a matching donor! By God's grace, he has not only provided a kidney but also one from a young healthy woman (Cheryl). It is the absolute best case scenario.
Cheryl says, " It was the easiest decision that I've ever made. I've been praying for Teresa for over 4 years. We were taking pictures at our church's Nativity drive through when I first heard that she was having kidney failure. I used to work dialysis and I think it's worse than cancer. So my heart immediately went out to her and we soon became friends. Many of you think I'm crazy for doing this when she's not family, but to me she is. In Matthew 12:48-50 it says “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?” And stretching out his hand toward his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers! For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.” So I view her as my sister, my sister in Christ."
Our hope is to assist Cheryl with her loss of salary for several weeks while recuperating. Unfortunately her insurance company will not recoup lost wages. We are giving people the opportunity to be a blessing to her by providing help with loss of income.
Our goal is $5000!
Please be in prayer for the surgical procedures for both Cheryl and Teresa, that the kidney transplant will take and that both will heal quickly.
