Cheryl’s Bone Marrow Transplant
Donation protected
Hello! My name is Morgan and I am fundraising for my mom, Cheryl Floyd.
In January 2019, Mom was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia. She will now be undergoing an allogeneic stem cell/bone marrow transplant due to failed response to 6 oral chemotherapy medications. She will be admitted to Barnes-Jewish Hospital on the 28th of February to begin the transplant process. This will require her to receive high doses of chemotherapy that will destroy her bone marrow and then receive stem cells from a very generous, unrelated donor. This procedure will require her to be hospitalized for approximately one month. Once the transplant is complete she will reside in St.Louis at a ”home away from home” for cancer patients with a caregiver for up to 3 months. While this process is promising, it comes with many risks and is by far the biggest challenge in her cancer journey.
With the long hospital stays and recovery time Cheryl will be out of work for an unknown amount of time. In creating this GoFundMe I hope to take the financial stress of transportation cost, temporary housing and household bills off of moms plate during this trying time and I hope you can help too! We are so grateful for any donation and thank you so much!
