Update 3/10/24: It is with great sadness I am updating that today, the world lost a truly amazing woman, partner, friend, and mother with Cheryl's passing. Mark has expressed his gratitude for your continued support of his family. Join us in supporting our dear friend and colleague, Mark Granito, his wife Cheryl, and their family as Cheryl faces another round in her battle against cancer. In October 2019, Cheryl was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer and has been fighting bravely ever since. However, Cheryl is facing a new challenge with hip replacement surgery after another round of chemotherapy and radiation treatment. In addition to coping with the debilitating side effects of her treatment, Cheryl will need to endure rehabilitation to regain her strength and mobility. Mark, who has already taken a leave of absence from work, will need to continue to take time away to care for Cheryl and their daughters while Cheryl heals.

Mark has been a part of East Brunswick Schools for 13 years. He has touched countless lives, first as a teacher at Hammarskjold Middle School and now at East Brunswick High School, inspiring both students and his colleagues with his positive energy and humor. Cheryl is a former Special Education teacher at Lakeview Elementary School in Denville and is loved by all for her caring and compassionate nature. You truly couldn't ask for more kind-hearted people that would do anything to make sure you have a smile on your face. Despite Cheryl's diagnosis, the Granito family remain an inspiration to those around them.

Now, we have the opportunity to show our love and support for Cheryl, Mark, and their family as they continue to live through the unimaginable.
