Cherylyn Daves road to recovery
Donation protected
On March 7, 2018, Cherylyn Daves was working as an American Forensic Nurse, completing a blood draw of a suspected DUI driver. As Nurse Daves and Police Officers were on scene a vehicle collided into the back of Nurse Daves personal vehicle as well as a Police Cruiser. Unfortunately Nurse Daves was standing at the front of her vehicle at the time of the collision. The force from the vehicle which was traveling in excess of 45 MPH caused Nurse Daves vehicle to striker her and threw her 15+ feet.
Nurse Daves is no stranger to accidents involving DUI drivers. In 2004 Nurse Daves was hit head on by a suspected drunk driver. The force from this impact made it impossible for Fire and Medical personnel to reach her. Nurse Daves had to wait in her wrecked vehicle for 2 hours until medial staff were able to get gain access to her via the jaw of life.
By the Grace of God, Nurse Daves suffered only a broken femur (Same leg broken during her 1st accident), a laceration to her head as well as bruising all over her body.
Nurse Daves and her husband (recipient of disability) will now be tasked with trying to navigate the process of medical cost, food expenses as well as the purchase of a replacement vehicle.
We would ask that if you or a loved one have ever been affected by a drunk driver or if God has placed it in your heart to give, Please do. Nurse Daves and her family would greatly appreciate your generosity, love and support.
-Thank You
