Cash For Connectivity, Cheshire
CheshireLive, the Chester Chronicle and the Crewe Chronicle are aiming to raise funds in support of the Cash for Connectivity Campaign.
We need your help in an emergency fundraising appeal to ensure those most at risk of falling behind in home-schooling can stay in the virtual classroom.
Cash For Connectivity aims to raise £1.2million to purchase internet-enabled dongles for the households in the North of England who need to get online.
There are believed to be around 332,000 families in the north of England without access to a home computer, laptop or tablet. And even if they can access a device, connection to the internet can be costly.
In Cheshire, we want to set an initial target of £5,000, to raise enough cash to help up to 500 families in the county.
Media outlets, politicians, businesses and many other organisations in the North are uniting behind this crucial cause. Staying home and staying safe shouldn’t mean you’re not connected.
You can also show your support on social media by posting using the hashtag #cash4connect and tagging in Cheshire Live
