This is for Chester’s rent August 2022-until he is vindicated. The financial support he has received through his gofundme accounts have enabled him to live in his home for a year, which has helped him feel independent even though his family is staying with him to help as caregivers. In August 2022 his lease came up and he will have to pay rent, we are in dire need if anyone can continue to help him as we keep up the fight for his vindication. Any support is greatly appreciated.

Chester Otto Weger, grew up in Oglesby Illinois, with his five sisters. He dropped out of High School at the age of 16 to join the Marines. Soon after he married his long time girlfriend and received an honorable discharge from the Marines to return home and take care of his soon pregnant wife and there he stayed to help raise his young daughter and later a son. Chester worked odd jobs to make ends meet; helping his father with his painting business and washing dishes at The Starved Rock Lodge. Since Chester didn’t drive or own a car he often walked, hitchhiked or rode with friends to and from work.
Everything changed for Chester at the age of 21 in the fall of 1960 when he was arrested and charged with the murders of 3 Chicago Socialites from Riverside Illinois at Starved Rock Park that occurred 8 months earlier that year.
In the end Chester Weger was only charged with one of three murders, because the only thing that put him there was a confession that was already prepared prior to him being arrested. Chester recanted the confession afterwards that he was “coerced” into signing and wasn’t about to confess to the other murders. Since then Chester had always maintained his innocence.
Chester was locked away and his young family left to manage. Chester finally achieved parole at the age of 81. Chester has no means to support himself. His life has been ripped from him and he still has the conviction hanging over his head. Miranda rights and the Brady Rule were established after 1961; which would of helped clear his name. Chester continues to seek to prove his innocence.
Chesters family is sponsoring this go-fund-me campaign to help Chester achieve some level of financial independence in his senior years since his release February 2020. Our family is asking for your help to be able to take care of Chester in his last decades as he cannot live on his own.
