Chewton Cemetery needs your help after recent burglary.

As you may already be aware, the Chewton Cemetery has been targeted over the Christmas break.

Our small committee has worked hard to upgrade equipment over the last 18 months to make the volunteers upkeep of the Cemetery quicker and easier.

Now we have been broken into and absolutely cleaned out.

All this equipment was kept in a secure locked shipping container on the cemetery grounds.

Some of the major items stolen were :

- A recently purchased top of the range TORO Z-MASTER MyRide 4000 Zero turn mower (photo attached of identical unit)

- Trolley mounted petrol powered pressure washer. Black in colour.

- Folding loading ramps

- Jerry cans, metal and plastic type.

- 2 stroke Whipper Snipper

- Electric weed spraying equipment and hoses.

Most of this equipment including the mower(purchased new for $22,000) has been bought with committee members own financial donations so it hurts a small volunteer group.

Insurance on the mower will only cover a portion of its value, we now have a large gap in funds to be able to purchase another mower and replace all the other equipment that has also been stolen.

We graciously ask you to help the beautiful Chewton Cemetery get back on its feet by donating any funds possible so we can replace the items that have been stolen. 

Funds raised will also enable us to purchase and install cameras and sensors and complete reinforcements and upgrades to the storage facility our equipment is stored in to prevent this happening to us again at Chewton Cemetery.
