Hello everyone, My name is Bailey Cheyenne Smith, and I am here today to ask for help. I was born with Aortic Stenosis, a heart condition that affects approximately 7% of the worlds population. Aortic Stenosis causes the aortic valve to have limited capability and decreases blood flow in the heart, causing fatigue, shortness of breath, palpitations, coughing, and chest pain. In the last year, I have learned that my condition has advanced into severe aortic stenosis, and the prognosis without surgery is grim. I have been told without treatment, I have a 50% chance of making it through the next two years, and a mere 20% chance of life through the next five. I am recently married, 19 years old, and I would love the chance to live my life. My husband works full time in the aerospace industry and is putting every available dollar towards fixing my heart, but we need help. I have been told by the surgeon's office that I have to raise $5,000, and that the surgery is scheduled for November 24, 2014.
