Cheza Sports Girl's Team Fundraiser

Who:

We are Sifa and Bosa Mwosa, two brothers that traveled with our family to Nairobi, Kenya, in July 2022. While there, we were introduced to the Cheza Sports Academy, whose mission is to discover, nurture, develop and grow talent in youth soccer programs. They also support scholarships for talented soccer players from less fortunate backgrounds.

What:

We are helping to raise funds to send the Cheza Sports Academy girl's team to play in the Chipukizi Cup Tournament in Arusha, Tanzania. This is the largest youth soccer tournament in East Africa, with around 95 teams representing ten countries and over 1300 players. For the past two years, the Chipukizi Cup has also been visited by national and international scouts looking for fresh football talent. This could open up opportunities for their future.

Why:

The girl's team has never been able to play at the tournament. They have always been given a lower priority over the boy's team because there has not been enough funding to send both teams. This will give the girls exposure to a higher caliber of soccer matches and interact with kids from other countries.

Goal:

The tournament will be held from December 13th-18th, 2022, and it will cost $250 per person to attend, including transportation, accommodation and meals.
