Chiara's Shadowing Abroad Fund

Hello!
My name is Chiara Logan and I am a current sophomore at Indiana University majoring in Gender Studies while on the Pre-medical track. I knew I wanted to become a doctor at a young age. During my junior year of high school is when I decided to become a Neonatologist. I chose this field because I have a passion for helping infants. I believe giving babies a chance to live a long and healthy life is rewarding to the infants, family, and me as well. At Saint Vincent Women’s Hospital, I shadowed a Neonatologist for 8 hours. During this experience, I was able to learn more about the responsibilities and the daily work of a Neonatologist. Also, I was able to observe the dedication that is required to be this type of doctor.
It has been an aspiration of mine to travel abroad and experience different cultures, religions, and ways of life. Thankfully, I have been accepted into the Atlantis Project Fellowship Program where I will be shadowing doctors in Athens, Greece from July 2-29, 2017. Not only will I be observing what a typical day looks like for a doctor in Athens, Greece, but I will also be able to explore different parts of Greece. I have never been out of the country and I believe this opportunity will help expand my knowledge about the medical field and other cultures as well.
This trip will cost $5000.00. That price will go towards the program costs which include housing, food, attractions, and a round trip flight to Athens, Greece. I am currently doing as much as I can to raise money by applying for grants, scholarships, and setting up this go fund me page. Again, it is an honor to have been chosen for this once in a lifetime experience. Every little bit counts!
Thank you in advance for your support.
