Chibilu Children Sickle Cell Fund
Donation protected
These children are four siblings, living in Lusaka, Zambia. Nangange, 13, Lukumo, 10, Ntambo-Yana, 8 and Luusa, 3. In their brief lives, two of the four siblings (Lukumo and Ntambo-Yana) have known extreme pain, hospitalization, repeated blood transfusions and near death experiences. This is due to them being born with a chronic genetic blood disorder, Sickle Cell Anemia.
In recent years, a breakthrough bone marrow transplant procedure is changing the course of the sickle cell narrative for many patients.
Recently funds for these children were raised to send samples, together with their parent's samples to a Histogenetics Lab based in New York.
3yr old Luusa, is a 100% match for her brother Lukumo.
More tests are needed for the 8 yr old girl as there is only a 50% /60% match from her parent's bone marrow.
The transplant for each child costs $30, 000 USD and we hope this will be raised by August 2018. This family do not have any health insurance in Zambia.
Please give hope to the Chibilu family and help Lukumo and Ntambo-Yana live a life with no sickle cell disease.
Any amount of donation is welcome and will be appreciated.
