Chicago Street Pub Relief
As you've all heard by now, a fire started in the church connected to the Chicago Street Pub on Friday. Thankfully, everyone made it out safely and firefighters from De Pere (and everywhere from Maribel to Green Bay) were able to put the fire out.
The good news is that a new building will be built where the parking lot is now, but optimistically the new building is six or eight months away. The harsh reality is that 25 employees are out of work, and it's going to be a long road ahead.
The DeCleene family has appreciated the outpouring of love and support, and after talking with Austin I offered to spearhead an effort to help. If you know the DeCleenes, you know how hard working the entire family is, and I teased Austin not to be too stubborn or proud to accept support. That's what a community is for.
